About Faculty

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at Rashid University awards a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, accredited and recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education. The Bachelor of Physical Therapy program was designed based on labor market studies and adopts competency-based academic standards issued by the National Authority for Quality and Accreditation of Education—bridging the gap and developing curricula and various student activities.

First, I am pleased to congratulate the honorable members of the Board of Trustees of Rashid University and Professor Hatem Salah El-Din, President of the University, on the new academic year.

I extend my warmest greetings to you, wishing our dear students, faculty, and esteemed staff an academic year filled with diligence, perseverance, success, and the search for ways to advance the level of higher education and scientific research, which represents the solid foundation for the scientific, cognitive, cultural, and value-based development of human societies.

My dear students: At the beginning of this blessed academic year, I can only welcome you to one of the nation’s esteemed institutions, which is proud of you and your sense of belonging to it. I urge you to always strive to acquire knowledge, which is the weapon of progress for all nations.

Fellow faculty members and support staff: I invite you to support and develop the educational and research process at the university, and to ensure that our university serves as a house of expertise that contributes to the development and progress of society and the resolution of its problems.

Mission

The College of Physical Therapy at Rashid University aims to prepare well-qualified physical therapy graduates who meet the needs of the local and international labor market, possess a distinguished academic level and professional performance of high quality, and are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide good health services through continuous development of education, learning, scientific research, and community participation within a framework of professional values ​​and ethics.

Objectives

  1. Preparing the college for accreditation by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, achieving national and international recognition for degrees awarded by the university, adopting comprehensive quality methods approved by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, and obtaining academic and institutional accreditation for the university, its colleges, and units.
  2. Adopting educational programs and curricula and ensuring that they are consistent with the National Academic Standards (NARS) and the college’s distinctive feature, meeting the needs of beneficiaries, and developing the student’s skill level to prepare him for the labor market.
  3. Support the educational process by creating a distinctive program that serves the college’s distinctive feature.
  4. Directing scientific research to applied disciplines and what serves the surrounding environment.
  5. Implementing quality assurance programs to improve performance in education, scientific research, and community service, with the aim of achieving accreditation for the college and its educational programs.
  6. Developing a scientific research strategy to meet the needs of the end user and society.

  2. Raising the efficiency and effectiveness of scientific research at the college and developing effective participation and cooperation with research institutions in the local, regional and international community.
  3. Graduate a physical therapist capable of providing a distinguished healthcare service that is competitive with international standards in this field.
  4. Graduating a physical therapy specialist at a technical and scientific level that serves the continuous applied and professional development in the physical therapy profession in all its fields.
  5. Graduating a physical therapist with the ability to deal with sports injuries and rehabilitation in a professional manner.
  • He has clinical, professional, administrative and communication skills that qualify him to provide physical therapy services and effective community participation in a safe manner based on evidence-supported practice, which qualifies him to compete in the professional field and the labor market.
  • To be familiar with the sciences of physical therapy and sports injuries, which qualifies him to provide distinguished medical services based on the latest scientific methods of practice related to comparative diagnosis and evaluation of various sports injuries using the latest evaluation and rehabilitation methods.

  • To be familiar with the latest physical therapy equipment for evaluation and measurement of various health problems that require physical therapy or rehabilitation intervention, and to have the ability and competence to spread health awareness in the community.
  • He adopts a professional approach in dealing with patients and their families, placing the patient’s interest and health needs at the forefront of his concerns. He respects the rights of patients, preserves their confidentiality, and provides the necessary medical service without discrimination, taking into account the economic and social dimension when treating patients while maintaining the efficiency of treatment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a team and communicate with others. They must be able to accept and respect other opinions when they disagree. They must also be able to learn independently to develop their abilities and skills in line with scientific developments. They must also possess the principles of scientific research that qualify them to advance to postgraduate studies and participate in research projects.
